Being fashionable in this day and time is a daunting task for many people. As a Style Raven, we imagine the task has been made simple by consuming our fashionable content, however, a few wardrobe malfunctions still lurk in the dark. And let’s be candid, in spite of how “killa” your ensemble is, a mere wardrobe malfunction can turn your walk of confidence into a walk of shame. Nobody likes that.

To effectively arm you against these malfunctions, and consequently protect you from the embarrassment they bring, we’ve curated the seven most common wardrobe malfunctions and how best you can avoid them. While these mishaps are so common, they are surprisingly very easy to fix. Before you say thank you, let’s get into it.

Check out 7 common wardrobe malfunctions and how to avoid them…

#1. Sweat patches

While you already know that dark-colored clothing retains heat, they are amazingly good at hiding sweat patches. But apart from this and deodorants, there’s another solution for sweat patches. It’s called underarm sweat pads. They stay conspicuously in the underarm area of your sleeved shirts or dresses to suck up all the sweat.

#2. The unexpected tear

Words can’t explain how annoying it is to go about your day slaying in that peng ensemble, only to hear a rriiippp. Yup, something got a hold of your dress and inflicted a tear. While the best way to fix this is with a quick needle-and-thread session, we don’t expect you to move around with those stitching friends, so a safety pin will come in handy. This pin can be used as a first aid treatment: to hold the tear in place until you can get out of the dress. However, the best way to avoid unexpected tear is to be careful of what you brush up against when you wear soft fabrics.

#3. The loose bra strap

Don’t you just hate that bras can be very cunning in so many ways? From the wire bursting through and poking your skin, to the strap coming loose and slipping down your shoulders, although you could swear it was tight before you left the house.

It’s an internal discomfort that we often suffer alone; fidgeting and trying to adjust discretely. Luckily, there’s a solution. Bra strap clips come in different types but their main job is to keep your bra strap in place, and so prevent falling.

#4. Those underwear lines

This is something that many of us don’t anticipate but that imprint from your underwear can transform an outfit for the worse. Your best bet, whenever you have to wear anything bodycon, is to accompany it with shapewear.

We can’t overemphasize this enough. Shapewear fixes everything — from broken relationships to sneaky underwear lines. Don’t ask how we know!

#5. The scoffed stiletto heels

Depending on where you will be going, some floors are just not good for your stilettos. It’s always a joy to have stiletto heel guards handy for those grassy or sandy floors. Save your heels, you’re welcome!

#6. The shifting fabric

We have to admit it, wearing some outfits can be a ticking bomb. From plunging necklines to high slits, anything can move from sexy to too revealing. Want to know how your favorite celebrities do it? It’s the magic of double-sided fashion tape. It works by sticking to your skin and then the fabric. You don’t have to be bothered about mistake slips. Wooosh! Like magic!

#7. The button pop

You know those shirts that are just the perfect fit but for some annoying reason are tight around the bust? While we don’t advise you to buy them, you don’t need to put out those you own just yet. Slip on the magical double-sided tape to hold the shirt and buttons in place. Like the shapewear, the double-sided tape fixes everything and is definitely worth the buy.
