In a surprising turn of events, President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 while on a speech tour in Las Vegas, the White House announced on Wednesday.

Despite being vaccinated and boosted, Biden, 81, still contracted the virus, showing mild symptoms such as a runny nose and dry cough. He plans to return to Delaware to self-isolate, continuing his duties remotely, as confirmed by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Biden’s diagnosis forced him to miss a key speech at the UnidosUS Annual Conference in Las Vegas. UnidosUS President Janet Murguia broke the news of his positive test to attendees.

This development has fueled speculation among some circles that the Democrats might use this situation as a pretext to reconsider Biden’s viability for the presidential race against Republican nominee Donald Trump. Critics argue that Biden’s age and recent health concerns might render him too feeble to sustain a rigorous campaign.
