he only thing disconcerting about Fashion Month is that it goes by like a whiff and leaves us regurgitating the snazzy looks that graced our timelines. Last week, the fashion weeks held sway and fashionable Black stars rose to the occasion in ultra-modern ensembles. As we enter the last week of fashion month, we celebrate the heavy-hitting looks that shone brightly last week.

The Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and other movie premieres saw some striking trends for spring/summer 2023, from heavy metallics/embellishments to graphic florals. Consequently, the guests mirrored these looks, signaling their eagerness to bring these designs alive from the runways to the streets. The ones who chose to keep their style simplistic did so with a unique touch.

The looks

Hot couple Gabrielle Union-Wade and Dwyane Wade were spotted at The Redeem Team movie premiere, again, with enough love and style to give. Gabrielle shined through in a Maison Valentino two-piece set styled with Tiffany & Co. accessories and matching Jimmy Choo heels. Dwyane leveled up in a floral Gucci suit, and dapper was the case.

Key in a tweed skirt suit and fall has nothing on you. Apparently, Taraji P. Henson already got the memo. Ms. Lyon boldly rocked a pink Kate Spade plaid tweed set paired with a Sam Icon Mini Hobo bag and a graphic tee as she attended a Kate Spade social impact event where they discussed women empowerment and mental health. Although other colors come close, pink still exudes femininity, and Henson embodied that truth.

Nollywood actress and host Toke Makinwa is a certified fashion killer. She will never miss an opportunity to go hard on a sartorial level. Last week, the star bodied a bold print Lanre Da Silva look that was downright splendid. Makinwa rocked the asymmetric hemmed mini skirt and deconstructed long-sleeve crop top to host the 2022 Supremacy concert. This fit hosted enough hotness to heat up a crowd on a chilly evening for sure.
