With the festivities in full swing, we all begin to act brand new — including celebrities. Rich mane, fancy nails, and an adventurous tweak on our routine style. The holiday parties, movie premieres, and end-of-the-year gatherings have doubled, and so did the opulent red-carpet ensembles. Last week, the party spirits intensified, and with Christmas densely in the air, everything seems dialed up in the fashion streets. Fashionable Black celebs held it down in tailored suits, rebellious ruffles, sassy cut-outs, and voluminous silhouettes in ways pleasing to the sight.

The Looks

On Thursday night, star girl Kelly Rowland certainly broke necks in an Iris Van Herpen SS21 couture dress at the Babylon movie premiere held at the Academy of Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The dramatic high-neck frock boasted intricately woven ruffles and cut-outs on the bodice, while the bottom was a pleated floor-grazing skirt. The star made a tactful pixie hair choice and a soft glam.

America’s forever FLOTUS Michelle Obama has been on a book tour for her work, “The Light We Carry” and has since been interviewed by a few celebrities. Last week, Blackish star and Pattern Beauty founder Tracee Ellis Ross sat down with lady Obama at the Masonic Auditorium in San Fransisco wearing a gray Gucci suit. The star, who isn’t afraid to make colorful bold statements with her style, kept it minimal in a way that perfectly suited her. The star completed the look with a light blue shirt and a thin black tie from the brand. Ross proves she could always deliver in class, regardless of the color palette she chooses to play in.

A color burst is often an easy way to dress things up, and Nigerian media personality Stephanie Coker knows the truth! Coker glowed in a custom OBM high-low dress as she hosted The Titan show. The corset snatched her waistline, and the voluptuous tier on the bottom only further accentuated her delicate frame. She took even more color-blocking strides with popping yellow platform heels and shimmery silver earrings for good measure.
