E

very week of the month of July saw celebrities leveraging on modish trends, an expert glam team, and an avalanche of sartorially-demanding events from fashion week shows to movie premieres. Of course, there wasn’t a shortage of stellar appearances which kept fans’ admiration at an all-time high, and our TLs bursting with pin-worthy looks. Last week, the style trend for female Black celebs across the globe was “Little Miss slaying is a habit” and girl did they slay all the way! The energy seemed right in Hollywood, and the carpets were bubbly with sophisticated representations, as these celebrities attended events like the UNICEF and Luisa Viaroma charity gala at Capri, and movie premieres.

The looks

Star girl Keke Palmer is the moment, and she keeps making this fact known through her multi-talented persona and chic sense of style. The star has been serving it hot all through her press rounds for the Nope movie. Last week, Palmer stepped out in London for yet another premiere appearance wearing a green Valentino lace dress with feathers abundantly placed on the midriff. In Berlin, the star was spotted again for the same movie premiere in a black David Koma high slit dress with plexiglass tyre-track details. That’s how stars do.

British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw made a case for elegance in a draped Alexander McQueen number as she attended the Surface movie premiere which was held at the Morgan Library in New York. The executive producer embodied the green pleated frock with an aura of edgy femininity — the right dose of sophistication both her frame and the red carpet required.

Nollywood actress Linda Osifo celebrated her birthday last week and shared some lovely shots on Instagram. The star stunned in a delicately crafted gold-themed custom dress by European brand Minna. The heavily embellished corset dress held a brown fabric underneath, with parallel strings of chains resting flatteringly on her lower body. The result was a mind-blowing accentuating effect on her glowing melanin skin. Black girls are steadily setting the tone for diverse representations of beauty.
