Celebrity stylist, Law Roach, shocked the world on Tuesday when he announced his intention to retire from the world of fashion styling.

He uploaded an image on Instagram that read: ‘retired’ and captioned the post writing; “My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all. If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics , the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out. ❤️❤️”

Roach who refers to himself as an “image architect” is the go-to stylist for stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Tom Holland, Celine Dion, Lil Durk, and most popularly, Zendaya.

He has also worked as a judge consistently for the HBO Max reality television series, Legendary.

This news came as a shock to fans because he just recently styled Hunter Schaffer, Megan Thee Stallion and Kerry Washington for the just concluded Oscar Awards.
He also styled Zendaya, arguably his most well-known client, in not one or two, but four stunning gowns a month ago.

Law has been vocal about the politics of the fashion industry. In an interview he said “You can’t talk to me any kind of way and you can’t treat me any kind of way. I’m commanding a certain kind of respect and if you’re not giving me that, we’re going to have a problem. I’m not afraid of this industry because I’m Black, I’m from the hood, I can always go back. I can always make money, I can always be successful.” He continued, saying, “I’ll walk away from all that shit because I’m just a natural-born hustler.”

While the reason behind Law Roach’s retirement is yet to be discovered, here are some of the comments underneath his Instagram announcement post;

“Law I won’t let you !!!! We don’t quit … strived too hard,” wrote Naomi Campbell.

“Absolutely not,” wrote Christian Siriano.

“Mental health is first” wrote Nene Leakes.
