On September 9, New York Fashion Week began and marked the beginning of fashion month. With presentations from brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Proenza Schouler, Dion Lee from Australia, and a joint runway from Fendi, the big apple is positively humming. What’s more, off-the-runway street fashion has also been shown to be as distinctive as New York’s inhabitants. New York Fashion Week street style 2023
This season, 109 brands are showcasing their Spring 2023 designs as part of New York Fashion Week, which is bringing even more elegance to NYC. Naturally, these new trends extend far beyond the catwalk, with New Yorkers out in force showcasing their own distinctive styles in the city that never sleeps. The twice-yearly event draws a large number of celebrities, including Rihanna, Lori Harvey, and Kim Kardashian.
The appeal of street style is in observing how each person’s uniqueness and sense of style manifests itself in their outfits outside of the show. Even so, it appears that there are a few pieces that everyone silently agrees are the best each season.
To start off the week (which began on Friday, September 9, and officially ends on Wednesday, September 14) in style, celebrities attended Harper’s BAZAAR’s annual ICONS party, which was held in association with the luxury retailer on Friday night at 59th Street Bloomingdale’s.
The trends became abundantly obvious on the second day of the Spring 2023 show during New York Fashion Week when an array of trends — a number from the Fall 2022 runways, but also from the wider fashion culture — nearly became omnipresent. These included white tank tops, mini skirts, low-rise bottoms, mixed prints in abundance, a continued emphasis on monochrome, elevated basics, and a lot of vibrant hues.
No matter where you are in the world, the event is a fantastic example of trans-seasonal fashion after a hot and humid summer. Find the best street style from New York Fashion Week Spring 2023 below.
