You will always find great music on Nigerian Idol. With a mix of brilliant contestants, talented back up singers or choir, and a dedicated band, nobody expects any less. Beyond the music, the show also serves some incredible fashion moments.

Season seven of the reality singing competition has been fantastic, with the super-talented contestants, superstar judges, and a world-class host.

The contestants have given us many buzz-worthy fashion moments this season, but we are turning the spotlight on the best power suit moments for this particular story. There’s been a lot, but we’ve narrowed our choices to the best 16.

See the looks below:

Let’s start with D’banj. Bangalee has thrown out all the rules and created his unique fashion niche. The man plays in his world, and that’s why he pairs power suits with furry mules and combat boots. We can’t lie; we love the unconventional vibe the judge is always giving!

Zadok has had almost as many power suit moments as outstanding performances. This contestant has quickly become a fan favourite, and it’s no surprise that he’s made it to the top four. Some of his best looks include the burgundy suit he wore when he took over the stage with Michael Bolton’s ‘Soul Provider’, his classic play on a black suit and the sequin suit he wore when he made it to the top four. Every time we see this young man, we just want to sing, ‘Zaddy, dey here so!’

Progress is the prince of two pieces, be it sparkly, native, or suits – ‘Pastor P’ or ‘Pimp P’rocks it all as well as he rocks the stage. Interestingly, his best power suit moments have him looking nothing like his ‘pastor’ nickname and every bit like the dashing young man most ladies are head over heels for on social media. Just look at him in this black three-piece outfit and the embroidered black fit – gorgeous!

It’s no surprise that Banty is the only lady to make it to this list. This fantastic vocalist takes androgynous looks to another level. And we can almost categorically say that she’s only comfortable in well-tailored two pieces because that’s when she gives the best performances. Just look at her in the beautiful silk two-piece and that flower bomb of a suit – she’s dripping with swag!

When you look like most models on the runway, you’ll always wear a suit like it belongs perfectly on your body – and that’s how Jordan wears them. There were just too many to choose from, but we finally settled on these three. We can’t say too much; just look at those poses – they say it all!

IK Osakioduwa has never shown up to host looking anything less than dapper, and he wasn’t about to start doing so on the Nigerian Idol season 7 stage. The man has had so many fashion idol (all pun intended) moments hosting this season’s show, but we’ve narrowed it down to our top two best power suit looks. What do you think?

Every time David Opera stepped on stage until his elimination, you could expect only passionate performances. Almost as vibrant as the way we love this play on a power suit. The man looked dashing in this, and we’ll never forget how well he killed his performance of Luther Vandross’ ‘Dance With My Father’ that day.

Most people never got to see Gerald perform a solo in this gorgeous blue suit because that was the day he was eliminated from the show. However, the few minutes where he sang Cynthia Erivo’s ‘Stand Up’ with the rest of the top 10 was enough for us to admire and fall in love with this outfit on GeeSix as he is popularly called.

This beautiful outfit is the best way to end this piece on the best power suits on the seventh season of Nigerian Idol. Still, we wouldn’t be able to finish this without asking what your favourite look is and if you’ve voted today?

Voting to decide who becomes your Nigerian Idol will close at 9 pm on Thursday. Viewers can vote via the Africa Magic website, mobile site, and MyDStv and MyGOtv apps.
