These past weeks of February, stylish Nigerian stars slayed in bold prints and dashing embellishments, and there’s never been a better time to look at the fashion takes rendered in this vibrant country. The uniqueness of rocking metallics as streetwear or the skill of turning a glamorous tulle dress into a ball of sophistication are the few notes to snatch from these fashionistas’ style books.

Nothing will prepare you for reality star Chioma Ikokwu’s striking look at the Soundcity MVP Awards. Chioma Good Hair, as she’s popularly called, donned a dramatic golden number by Nigerian designer Xtra Bride Lagos. The metallic mini dress featured distinct silver embellishments, double thigh slits, and flamboyantly structured sleeves. Because drama is a regular component of the red carpet, the style girl completed the look with complementary silver boots and a bag. The definition of “shine bright like a diamond.”
