The Hub of Africa Addis Fashion Week (HAFW) returns this year with its annual international showcase, scheduled from January 9-14, 2023 hosted at the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa, ETMetro gallery and Kana Warehouse.

Since its inception in 2010, HAFW has showcased over 200 designers, spanning international, continental, and local talents. The event has been a significant launching platform for prominent figures in African fashion, and this tradition continues in the current edition with a lineup featuring 25+ designers, both continental and local.

This year, HAFW is elevating the experience for showcasing designers by providing a more extensive platform. The program includes exclusive, solo shows and collective showcases with other designers.

The growth and refinement of the event are evident, with a focus on offering an enhanced platform for participating designers. The efforts this year extend to augmenting the list of international buyers, media/press, and the inclusion of trainers and organizers from other international fashion weeks.

HAFW’s longstanding partnership with Waridi Schrobsdorf of Fashion Africa 254 (FA254), spanning almost a decade, remains dedicated to advancing the development of African fashion industries and fostering stronger market linkages between the continent and the international fashion scene.

The diverse programs for this year’s event encompass runway shows, installations, workshops, panel discussions, fashion storytelling, a pop-up marketplace, and more. The participating designers hail from a range of African countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Cameroon, and Ethiopia. The Hub of Africa Addis Fashion Week continues to be a dynamic and inclusive platform for the thriving African fashion industry.
