Within the plaintiff’s document involving Puff Daddy, it was noted that one of his sexual assault victims had dated female rapper Nicki Minaj, prompting fingers to point at Meek Mill.
As a result, Meek Mill faced a barrage of insults, mockery, and questions about his sexuality across various social media platforms. Engaging with detractors on Twitter, Meek Mill expressed his desire to obtain citizenship in Ghana, citing his belief that America is designed to bring down black men who don’t conform. He tweeted “I wanna get citizenship in Ghana!!!! America made to tear black men down if you don’t follow orders!”

His tweet went viral and sparked debate among African Americans, questioning why Meek Mill believes life is better in Africa. False accusations were also made, claiming Africans harbor hate towards African Americans. Despite the criticism, Meek Mill stood his ground, challenging his critics.
The discourse took a controversial turn when Meek Mill tweeted, “I don’t make fun of Africans, stop setting that black hatred narrative. I was just in Ghana in Africa with the slums day and night outside my hotel, and I hung with them every day. I felt love of black people I’ve never felt in America.” He further fueled the discussion by asserting, “The slums and the people that get money! I am African; I just was born in America.”
