Thoughtful fashion is knowing how to coordinate a day and night fit in such a way that balances function with style and occasion. With such an awareness, does a fashion boy need much else? Clearly not, and last week’s best dressed men understood this approach, opting for refined silhouettes that allowed for the power of their outfits to shine totally on their own while playing up their frame. This was the case whether they stepped out in the daytime or at night.
The Looks
Take, for instance, Durrell “Tank” Babbs Sr. at the 2022 Soul Train Awards (aka the “Black Grammys”). He wore a bespoke Rich Fresh four-piece ensemble consisting of a button-up shirt with matching pants, a blazer, and a trench coat with the designer’s signature color stripes—a look that stood out but didn’t feel overwhelming, thanks to its clean symmetrical cuts.
At the basketball game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Utah Jazz, James Harden, who was out with an injury, looked dapper on the courtside wearing a full Louis Vuitton look in different shades of green. The woolly athleisure look was simple, and the turtleneck silhouette and glossy shoes were the right finish to solidify the fit. Best Dressed Men Outfits
Clean and classic evening looks ruled last week as well. At the Baby2Bay Gala, actor and media entrepreneur Tyler Perry looked dapper and expensive in his Tom Ford. It looks like Tom Ford is the go-to for billionaires, and we see why!
