Last week’s best-dressed stars certainly put on a show. Whether they were on their way to the NFL’s season opener or New York Fashion Week opening night—an unsurprising hub for eye-catching fashionable moments, the gents showed up and showed out. Black men across the globe reimagined dapper codes by choosing unconventional silhouettes that made the paparazzi go wild. Best Dressed athletes.
Take American football player Jordan Phillips in his uncommon Duane & Johnson ensemble at the NFL season opening night. The custom golden woven tweed set couldn’t help but command attention. He matched the look with a pair of Nike Air Force One and a leather carry-on bag.
Equally as captivating was the monochrome oversized fit that media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu wore for the BBNaija eviction show–a look that doubled as wearable art. Ebuka paired a black wide-leg Orange Culture pants with an oversized white shirt that flaunted a silhouette of a girl holding balloons on it. The host, who completed the look with a pair of white sneakers, has definitely been stealing the show this season.
There was still more standout looks from last week that really impressed us. Making his way to the New York Fashion Week opening night, basketball player Royce O’Neale was styled in a Formal Set “Formalities” green colorway two-piece set which he wore over a fitted white tank top. For shoes, he opted for a pair of yellow and white Louis Vuitton sneakers which added a needed contrast to the look. O’Neale further accessorized with layers of custom Cuban link necklaces and a pair of sunglasses from Patron of the New. Best Dressed athletes
Last week’s best-dressed men were a far cry from the standard with how they elevated otherwise basic casual looks. More of that, please!
