In Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, protesters converged near Western embassies and UN offices yesterday, expressing their discontent by burning flags, including those of the US and Belgium.

The demonstrators level accusations against the West, asserting their perceived support for neighboring Rwanda, which is alleged to be backing the Tutsi-led M23 rebellion. Tensions have escalated in recent days as the M23 has made significant advances in the eastern regions of the DRC.

The Democratic Republic of Congo remains entangled in a complex web of challenges, with over 120 armed groups vying for control over land and resources. This ongoing struggle further complicates the region’s stability and hampers efforts to establish peace and security.
