The all fierce Beyoncé has been the mainstream icon of American pop music for over a decade. Her captivating music has spawned many sing-alongs for people across the world. In 2020, Beyoncé revived her career, as she had done previously, but this time with a focus on African music.

Beyoncé will soon explore the continent, collaborating with various African artists for the Lion King soundtrack, ‘The Gift.’ Riding the wave of the rise of African music and culture, Beyoncé jumped on the bandwagon and delivered a number of hits that were well embraced by the continent. Now, with the surge of A.I. technology, particularly on the continent, one A.I. artist has managed to virtually transport Beyoncé back to Africa.

Mimio Karen, known as @mimiokaren1 on Instagram, is a Nigerian celebrity illustrator, stylist, and designer. He decided to reimagine the legendary Beyoncé in Kente fabrics, bringing out the African queendom of the Louisiana-born hitmaker.

The Kente cloth is a powerful symbol deeply woven into the fabric of Ghanaian heritage. Originating from the Ashanti people in the 17th century, this cultural treasure carries threads of tradition, history, and identity. Each motif and color within the Kente design holds symbolic significance, representing wealth, nobility, and different aspects of life.

Presenting over 20 stunning looks targeting Ghanaian culture, he has draped the musical icon in various gorgeous Kente styles, allowing us to witness where her true status lies. See the stunning AI work below.
