Twenty-eight years ago, the iconic Lady Dior bag first appeared as the arm candy of the late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, on a trip to Paris.
The bag quickly gained traction and became a signature piece transcending generation of the French fashion house.

Given to her by the First Lady of France, Bernadette Chirac, at the Cézanne Art Exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, she was seen graciously carrying the handbag at other public functions, including the Met Gala red carpet in 1996. Therefore, earning itself the name: the Lady Dior.

The bag itself is timeless and classic in its design with clean quilted carnage motif, soft lambskin, box like silhouette, rounded handles adorned with metallic Dior charms. The charms are symbolic to the lucky charms Christian Dior always kept on him.

Originally named the ‘Chouchou’ – meaning ‘favourite’ in French – only a few prestigious women in the world had access to it before it was officially released.

Inspired by the Napoleon III chairs that were used for guests at his first show for the French fashion house in 1947, Gianfranco Ferret designed the bag in 1994.

The Lady Dior Bag has been redesigned in various elegant and playful ways, season after season for the past two-and-a-half decades, which makes it a bag that suits the style of fashion lovers of every generation.
