Mona Faiz Montrage, renowned as Hajia4Real, has pleaded guilty to romance scam out of a number of alleged money laundering charges placed on her. Today 21st February, she pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiring to receive stolen money before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave.

The 31-year-old Ghanaian socialite has admitted to a single count of conspiracy to receive stolen money, an offense that carries a maximum prison sentence of five years. Additionally, Montrage has agreed to forfeit and provide restitution in the amount of $2,164,758.41.

In November 2023, Hajia4Real made a significant legal move by changing her legal representation. This decision followed her separation from Adam Cortez, who had been her attorney since the initiation of her prosecution.

The request for a change in attorney was submitted to the US court on November 8, 2023, and it was granted on November 9, 2023. Subsequently, she enlisted the services of Ms. Eleanor Fast from ‘The Fast Law Firm PC’ to handle her case moving forward.

The specific reasons prompting her decision to switch lawyers were not disclosed.
