I

t wasn’t by chance that Black celebrities embodied ensembles that complemented their silhouettes last week. Whether they made their way to high-end designers’ Spring/Summer 2023 shows, The Business of Fashion 500 Gala, or the Club Renaissance party at the 2022 Paris Fashion Week, elegance was encapsulated in all representations.

The looks

On Tuesday, Beyonce threw another star-studded Club Renaissance party in Paris in partnership with Tiffany & Co., and it wasn’t surprising to spot the creme de la creme of Hollywood buzzing in with attireS that proved they understood the assignment. Host with the most, Queen B kept the timelines shimmering in a full-on metallic silver Paco Rabanne look. From a glinting head wrap to the layers of bling jewelry, the Alien Superstar chanteuse showed no one can indeed dim her shine.

We should unanimously agree that Paris Fashion Week was Lori Harvey‘s sartorial playground this season. The star girl was spotted out and about, serving major looks along with her mom, Marjorie, in the streets of Paris. Each look was a hit for with an intentional stylist like Elly Karamoh, one would expect nothing short of excellence. Among her long string of stylish outfits was a faux fur set from Stand Studio‘s Spring 2023 collection which she styled with Chanel costume jewelry.

Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner, Mercy Eke, might not have attended Paris Fashion Week, but her sleek all-black look from designer Ann Usman for her 29th birthday last week is worth a spot of its own. Suave doesn’t do justice to the description of the exaggerated cape set, which featured an embroidered see-through turtleneck. That’s how you ring in your final year as a twenty-something —with sophistication, confidence, and a ready look to take on the next phase of life.
